The Caring Network Sub-Council

CARING NETWORK SUB-COUNCIL MISSION STATEMENT

In all the activities of the Caring Network Sub-Council, the goal is to help those who need assistance and comfort and to foster the growth of a Caring Congregation through the work of the various Committees.

Helping us to be a Caring Community

“There is no higher religion than human service. To work for the common good is the greatest creed." ~ Albert Schweitzer

"Service is nothing but love in work clothes." ~ Anonymous

"Whatever you do may seem insignificant, but it is most important that you do it." ~ Ghandi

Who We Are

We are a network of volunteers who are available upon request to all members and friends in our congregation. We perform our activities in communication with the ministers.

What We Do

  • With sufficient notice, we can be in touch with people on a regular basis or when support is most needed with cards, phone calls, or visits.
  • We will visit at home, in a hospital, or in a nursing facility.
  • We can prepare and deliver meals.
  • We will help coordinate and manage receptions following Memorial Services.
  • We offer support groups as needed. We coordinate services with the Comfort Shawl Ministry.

We Can Help With:

  • Transportation
  • Errands
  • Flower delivery
  • Sunday Service Tape Delivery

You Are Not Alone

Starting the Network:

If you or someone you know needs our care, call the Society office at 860 233-9897. The Administrator will ask for details regarding the needs. This information will be passed on to the appropriate Network chairperson who will dispatch Caring Network volunteers to meet those specific needs.

We continue to Welcome and Appreciate Volunteers.

Just fill out a volunteer survey form available from the Society office. Please note that you may not receive a request for service unless a specific match happens to occur.

Members of the Caring Network Committee are responsible for each of the service areas covered by the network:

communications,
food distribution,
transportation and tasks,
support and sharing,
Comfort Shawl Ministry,
memorial service receptions, and the Memorial Garden
