Council on Social Justice Chair: Bill LaPorte-Bryan Members: Carol Shoemaker, Carolyn Cartland, Greg Nickett, Joan Kemble, John Barlow, John Clapp, Lisa Gabrielle, Shai Cassell and Tom Kemble Our mission: The mission of the Council on Social Justice is to promote, facilitate and inspire the fulfillment of our congregation's (and each member's) responsibility to engage in social justice.  CoSJ will inform and educate the USH congregation in areas of social justice, both internal and external to USH.  We will sponsor and support congregational follow-through on "Advocacy" and "Social Service" issues and service opportunities that most closely align with community needs, UUA principles, and USH member desires and capabilities.   As we develop our programs, "content" and "spiritual growth/relationship building" will be equally important. Our plans for 2007 - 2008: The council will continue to support the work of all of its sub-councils.  It will coordinate its plans and activities with the other three USH Councils as well as the Board and our minister. It will coordinate the plans for Social Justice offerings and worship services during the year.
