I attended the Beloved Conversations workshop this week with 50 other UUs. The process and facilitation was excellent. We looked at our sabotaging behaviors when we want to act from our best selves and the VALUES that support sabotaging. I noticed I avoid confrontation and that undermines what my best self wants to do. It is my VALUING  my comfort zone that causes me to avoid confrontation. And beyond that is a fear I will be rejected and cast out if I, in fact, confront certain situations. It is so enlightening to face this primal fear of rejection, note my valuing my comfort zone over acting on my best values in unfamiliar territory. This work is a spiritual process.
